Oh, Google Ads Will You Ever Get It Right?

Some days Google Ads does a good job of targeting ads for my site and other days... not so much.

In the most recent comic I mention protecting the character's eyes, so what does Google show for ads? Lasik eye surgery and various places to buy glasses. Of course typing this in the blog will further re-inforce for them that this is in fact an eye-care blog.

Can I win?

How about this: Hey, Google, how about some nice, pretty flowers? You like flowers don't you? I think everyone likes flowers. You know what would go over well? Some ads about flowers.

Let's just see how that goes. You know, with flowers.

In all seriousness I'm not sure I'm going to keep the Google Ads. Several times they have shown ads I didn't like on my site. Unlike ads with pretty, pretty flowers. Those would be nice. I'm sure everyone would be compelled to click ads for flowers. We are all botanists at heart here.

Yep. We love us some flowers and flowering plants around here!

Still No Flowers

Oh, Google why won't you show ads about flowers on my site?

If you wonder why I want Google to send me flower ads, just read the last blog post.

If only we could learn more about flowers here, our lives would be better.

Roses, gardenias, poppies, or even violets would be welcome.

Yes, the world of flowers is a huge one. And we all love flowers, right?

Happy 40th, People-On-Moon!

Today (July 20th, 2009) marks the 40th anniversary of the first humans to land on the surface of the moon!

The more you learn about what our country and those brave men accomplished, the more amazed you are.

Did you know that there were fewer than 20 seconds worth of fuel left when the lander touched down? FYI: you don't survive a mistake on the moon!

I remember watching the landings (I don't think I'm remembering the first one since I was only a year and a half old at the time) with my dad. He made a big fuss that THIS IS HISTORY BEING MADE! You know what? I remember to this day what I saw and learned a love of science, technology and history. Thanks, Dad!

I finally got a new comic up!

I'm afraid I can't keep a regular schedule at the moment, but I'm going to try to hit one a week until I can get the current storyline wrapped up.

I hope you enjoy it.

Cool Video About Returning To The Moon

The race to the moon is on!

The first race to the moon was to step on the surface, the new race is to stay on the surface and build a habitat.

Here is a cool video that talks about what it will be like from National Geographic.

Readers of the comic know I'm pretty well obsessed with the Apollo moon missions, and I'm really excited about our return to the moon.

I'm also a big fan of the National Geographic. We watch lots of their shows including the one in the link above: Naked Science.
